Thank you, Stefano. I appreciate it. I should say a few things about my work. I consider myself primarily a writer, and I work as a managing editor for a trade union newspaper. Part of my job is as a photo editor, so I am not a novice by any means, however until recently my work was personal--did not think to be public about it except by sharing certain photos via social media.

Because of the storm, I had the opportunity to photography daily--mainly just an hour--before work in the morning. I have worked at this every day for six months.

I am influenced as much by painters, such as Hopper and later social realist painters as I am by photographers. When I approach a scene I do not think of the decisive moment, but of the constant moment, and of allowing the photograph to give the viewer an opportunity to create their own story, to have a relationship with the image as if looking into a reflection.

I try to go for timeless pieces that one can view themselves on their own walks, whether it be in Porto, Milan, Sao Paulo, or even Chennai or Osaka. For example, when you look at this photo, you would think this was taken anywhere, anytime, but doubtful in the New York City of 2013. However, it is there, and I attempt to convey an universality, with elegance.

However you see this in New York all the time.

I also need a better camera. Imagine what this would look like using a Leica.

Beautiful street, with a fantastic bn and a great play of light and shadows. The human presence is an essential element. I would like to take this opportunity to ringrazirti for these your shots, I was in NYC last October with my daughter and my wife, who was fascinated by the "big apple", I made a lot of shots, but almost all from "tourist". In your breathe the true atmosphere of the city, shots that only one who lives there and turns it can do.
