I did try to give a religious feel and you are right upping the contrast gave me a halo effect!!

Impressive sky and minimal composition. Great definition... the light the surround the ark is made on purpose? Like the halo of a sacred boat... or is simply due to the excess of contrast? I honestly don't know how to interpret it, normally would be a mistake but in this case would fit well with the holiness of the boat that you also remind with the title.
